Aircel has been providing the Aircel Wi-Fi hotspots for users to get the wireless internet connections at remote places where they don’t need to be plugged in. Airtel too had started the similar Wi-Fi hotspot service some time back, and as of now it is available at various locations like the Cafe Coffee Day centers, the airports and other very active places. It is available for prepaid and postpaid users, with limited plans.

For the postpaid users, the Airtel Wi-Fi hotspot is available for Rs. 99 per month plan where the user gets 1GB of download, and with that the speed of internet is 2MBps. The postpaid users can pay the bill for the Wi-Fi usage along with the Broadband bill and the hotspots are available in the metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore etc. The Wi-Fi hotspot postpaid service is available for those with existing broadband accounts. You need to Call 1800-103-0121 and provide your airtel broadband details and later, a call will be received from 121 with the Wi-Fi username and password for your account. To use the Wi-Fi service, you need to install a dialer for which you would get the information from 121.

For the prepaid users, the speed of connectivity is of 512Kbps and unlimited download is available during the usage session. The charges are applicable according to the plan selected, and there are several plans like 1 hour for 1 day validity, 2.5 hours for 2 days validity, 6 hours for 3 days validity.

How to Connect to Airtel Wi-Fi with Prepaid plan:

In the list of available hotspots, click on “airtel WiFi hotspot” and once you are connected, go to the landing page which opens and submit your phone number and the activation code, and you would be getting the username and password on the mobile phone. Use that to connect and you can browse the internet. Later you need to click logout to end the session.
