Reliance Communications has entered the Android tablet market with its Reliance 3G Tab, and is the first telecom company in India to launch a tablet device with 3G connectivity. The tablet device will come with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and would come with a 7-inch touchscreen and pretty good internal specifications.
The Reliance 3G Tab is powered with the 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, the TFT-LCD WVGA screen and the weight of the tablet is just 389 gms, which is quite less when compared to the other tablet devices of the 7-inch category. The price of the tablet device too is quite less and catchy when compared with the Android tablets and the iPad. The tab is provided with a lot of applications which come pre-installed, and the apps are well available in various categories, as listed below –
Information Service – Google maps, Default Android browser, navigation and Google search
Communication Service – Email app of Android, SMS and MMS
Entertainment Service – Music Player app, Video player app, Games section
Social Networking Service – Twitter, Facebook apps
Apart from the apps, you always have the access to the Android market from where the applications can be downloaded, most of them available for free usage. As of now, the cities where the Reliance 3G Tab is available are Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai but in a few days, all the circles which have the 3G network would be getting the tabs for sale. Keeping the memory feature just like the mobile phones, the Reliance 3G tab has 4GB SD card coming with the purchase, but the memory can be expanded externally using the MicroSD card.
The 3G Tab has a 2-Megapixel camera on the rear side, and a VGA camera on the front. The 800 MHz processor is pretty good enough to support the Android 2.3 OS.
