The Adobe team just released the beta of newer version of their Flash player for all the operating systems and browsers, the Flash Player 10.2 Beta. This new version promises of many enhancements and addition of features that by many folds increase the performance of the system and provides a greater video playback.
Some of the features that are newly seen –
- Stage video hardware acceleration – This is a newer method to optimize and play the videos in Flash player, enabling the best video playback and overall performance. The Stage Video feature decreases the processor usage, enables a higher frame rate, and reduces the memory usage of the computer providing a better and greater quality of video. The CPU load is reduced by 85%.
- Support for Internet Explorer 9 – The Adobe team exclusively released a version for the IE9 browser, to utilize the hardware accelerated graphics that are available in the browser which tend to increase the graphics performance.
- Mouse cursors – The custom native mouse cursors now brighten the atmosphere and enhance the user experience, improving the performance.
- Multiple monitor and fullscreen support – The 10.2 beta version provides the support for usage in multiple monitors together, and even the fullscreen mode is supported now. i.e. A video can be played in fullscreen on one monitor while you continue working on the other.
The new features promise the improvement of performance by a good rate, and you can install it for all the browsers, though Google chrome won’t use it directly because of the in-built player which needs to be disabled, here is how to install flash player 10.2 in chrome.
