Airtel 3G Plans in Andhra Pradesh, Tariff and Activation Details

Airtel 3G had recently launched in Andhra Pradesh, and it has come in with various plans and packages depending on the data usage, the validity of the package. As we checked, the tariff for 3G is same in all the regions where 3G was launched in Andhra Pradesh. It is Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh where Airtel has launched its 3G services. Here are the various plans and tariffs –

Based on Pack Types –

Sachet Pack –

• Rs. 9 plan comes with 10 MB free data usage, and is valid for one day. Post expiry of free data usage, browsing charges of 30p/20KB will apply.
• Rs. 60 plan comes with 65 MB free data usage, and is valid for 3 days. Post expiry of free data usage, browsing charges of 30p/20KB will apply.
• Rs. 45 plan gives 30 minutes of free data usage, where you can do anything in that 30 minutes of time, and after that every minute charge is Rs. 3

The above 3 plans come only for the prepaid SIM customers, and there are no sachet packs available for postpaid users.

Standard Pack –

 

• Rs. 99 plan for prepaid users, and Rs. 100 plan for postpaid users gives 100 MB of free data, valid for 30 days.
• Rs. 198 plan for prepaid users, and Rs. 200 plan for postpaid users gives 250 MB of free data, valid for 30 days.
• Rs. 450 plan for prepaid users, and Rs. 450 plan for postpaid users gives 600 MB of free data, valid for 30 days.
• Rs. 750 plan for prepaid users, and Rs. 750 plan for postpaid users gives 2 GB of free data, valid for 30 days.

For all the above plans in Standard Pack, Post expiry of free data usage, browsing charges of 30p/20KB will apply

FlexiShield Pack –

Rs. 675 plans for either Prepaid or Postpaid users, gives 1.25 GB of free data usage, and after 1.25GB, VBC of 1p/100KB upto a max shield (amount) of Rs 2000. Post hitting the shield value, you get free unlimited browsing at 20Kbps speed, validity 30 days.

Special Volume Based Charging Packs –
3G Value Pack – Prepaid customers have to pay Rs. 25, and Postpaid customers Rs. 20 to subscribe to this. In this pack, you would be charged 15p every 20kb of data usage, for 30 days.
Pay as you go – There is no rental for both prepaid and postpaid users, and they would be charged 30p / 20kb of data usage.
Video Call – 5p/sec , valid on Local, STD & Roaming

What is FlexiShield Plan –
Provides you flexibility to start from a lower rent and pay as per usage, instead of committing a higher rent upfront. When your total data bill reaches Rs. 2000, you can continue using data free of cost, though at a reduced speed of 20 Kbps.

How to Activate 3G and subscribe to a 3G Plan of Airtel –
To subscribe to a 3G pack that suits you, SMS 3G to 121 or call 12134. It would respond with the available different packs, and you would need to select the pack which you need to subscribe to. The activation when I did, was instant and the 3G signals came as soon as I subscribed.
