Where usually the price of the successor version of a particular mobile is seen higher, lately most of them are priced lesser although they have the better specs to talk about. One of the latest examples is the Droid 2 R2D2 version, which is priced at $199 with contract, $50 lesser than the Droid 2 original. Despite being awesome, and quite stronger when the specs are checked, the price is kept low, reason being unknown. The phone is being sold through Verizon, and till now there is no catch for which the price is kept at a reasonable low unexpectedly.
The star wars fan version of the Droid 2, not so popular by the design but is an excellent device internally, with the high range processor, delivering superb graphics quality. It comes with the Android 2.2 Froyo OS.
On the other side, Samsung too entered the discount market by making the Samsung Galaxy Tab priced at just $200 through US Cellular, with the 2-year contract after the mail-in rebate. One can’t ignore or search for a better pricing option when the 7-inch tablet device is being sold at such cheap price. The Galaxy tab comes with a 5GB data plan with a pay-as-you-go pricing, but this could take you to somewhere around $55 a month plan. Not less, but when you are getting nearly the same with the device priced high with other carriers, this is a fair offer for the US Cellular subscribers.
The retail price of the Tab without a contract, is $599.99 and after the discount for 2-year agreement and deduction of mail-in rebate of $100, the price was set to $199.99. The tab is made with the Android 2.2 Froyo OS.
