Earlier, we wrote about how to set your favorite song as alarm clock on iOS and you saw how easy and intuitive it was. But now we’ll be showing you how to set the alarm song on any Android device including Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4 and other smartphones. The Android user interface might look slightly different on each manufacturer, but setting a custom song for an alarm is pretty much the same on all of them.
- On your home screen, hit the Apps button.
- Launch the built-in Clock app.
- Make sure you’re in Alarm tab and then tap Create alarm.
- Set the time of the alarm and other settings, and then head over to the Alarm tone field. Note that this is only available when the Alarm type is set on either Melody or Vibrate and Melody.
- At this step you’ll be prompted to select a sound from the built-in ones or to choose a custom song by selecting Go to my files.
- Navigate through your files and find your desired song for your alarm.
- Save the alarm.
Now as you know, Google Nexus 4 runs on stock Android. This is how to set a custom ringtone on it:
- On your home screen, hit the Apps button.
- Launch the built-in Clock app.
- Look up for an alarm clock icon on the bottom-left of the screen and tap on it.
- The alarm page appears, where you can either edit your currently set alarms by taping on them or set a new alarm by pressing on the + button.
- Set the time of the alarm and other settings, and then head over to the music icon.
- At this step you’ll be prompted to select from stock sounds or a custom song in your library.
- Navigate through your files and find your desired song for your alarm.
Now enjoy being woken up by your favorite song in the mornings and take that mood if you for the rest of the day.
