MTS, the mobile network in India has launched it’s first CDMA mobile phone, the HTC Pulse with Android 2.1 operating system. This is for celebrating their 10 million subscribers count. The phone is coming with no cost if you buy it with the postpaid contract for 1 year, and if we opt to buy without a contract you can buy the same by paying directly for the mobile device and that won’t be a CDMA service.
The HTC Pulse comes for free of cost, but you need to sign a contract of Rs. 1500 per month for the plan. In this plan, you get 1500 minutes of talk time, 1500 SMS, and 1500 MB of data browsing every month. And you need to pay that monthly fee for 12 months. If you want to buy the phone directly without the monthly contact, you need to pay Rs. 18000 for that.
The HTC Pulse has a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7600 processor, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, a 5MP camera, and 3.1MBps CDMA EVDO 3G connectivity. Its 3-inch capacitive touchscreen has a 320×480 resolution. The phone also supports microSD cards up to 32GB. The phone comes with Android 2.1 operating system, and there is no news whether it is going to get a Android Froyo 2.2 update.
Connectivity of the HTC Pulse is WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate and A2DP for wireless stereo headsets, Internal GPS antenna. It has got a 1300 mAh battery. The network is a CDMA Dual-band 800/1900MHz. You can get the phone from a MTS store for both contract and non-contract devices.
