When it comes to Smartphones, Apple is the leading survivor with its range of iPhones that not only define sophistication and classiness at its best, but also have an exceptional usability and functionality that is likely to burn a hole in your pocket. When it comes to iPhone, it is hands down the first choice of the masses and with the introduction of two new handsets, namely iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, there is a frenzy in the market to get access to these but has left people flustered as to which one should be chosen. Given below are some of the features that have been used as a yardstick to measure the capability of both the handsets.
1.) Design:
When it comes to iPhone 5S, the features that are available are almost similar to those of the iPhone 5 however, some improvisations have been made. As a result of this, you will barely find any difference in the design of the phone. To put it simply, both iPhone 5 and 5S have the same design. The iPhone 5C on the other hand, as opposed to its other iPhone counterparts does not have a metal finish and instead has polucarbonate casing that keeps it sturdy and the availability of eye popping candy colours suffuses a breath of fresh air into it. Both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have a 4.0 inch screen but iPhone 5C has a better design.
2.) Features and functions:
The password protection feature of iPhone 5S is far more superior with the use of TouchID that scans your fingerprint using 550ppi image resolution. Every feature you decide to use in your iPhone requires the TouchID if you choose to activate it, thus keeping your phone secure. The iPhone 5C on the other hand, does not have any of these features. Besides, it can be considered quite basic.
3.) Processor and technical aspect:
Both iPhone 5S and 5C use the latest iOS 7 as their operating system that has been revamped and comes packed with a myriad features that will give any other OS a run for its money. This has given a much sleek look to the overall user interface.
However, the iOS 7 suits the iPhone 5S much better with the 64 bit A7 chip coupled with M7 Motion. On the contrary, iPhone 5C uses the A6 chip, which is comparatively older and thus the processing takes more time. Besides, the price of the iPhone 5C does not justify the very little features that it comes with. Our team have been asking other tech bloggers about their thoughts on the 2 new iPhones, here’s what Richard Querrey, the blog editor at www.contractphoneswithfreegifts.com has to say:
I’ve always been an Apple fan but ultimately I’m disappointed with the iPhone 5C, for months it was dubbed as the new low cost iPhone but when we got a handset in the office to review and I saw the price point I was pretty shocked. No way is it low cost. I think it’s a cool phone, I like the colours but the pricing just puts me right off. I think users are better off getting an LG G2 or a Nexus 5 that offers far more for less money. As for the iPhone 5S well it’s fairly stylish, I like TouchID and the co-processor is a neat idea. But if you have an iPhone 5, is it worth upgrading to the S model? I’d say no.
Therefore, if you wish to have more flexibility and control with added features, iPhone 5S is the way to go.
