The iPhone’s next version after the 3GS model was rightly rumored with many specifications that matched the product after the actual launch. And now again, the rumors and news have started spreading about the next version of the iPad, i.e. the iPad 2, apart from the info about the iPhone 5. The newer version of the iPad is expected to have a complete different design and the body is made of a different silver-look metal. The device would be launching in around April of 2011, and is going to be thinner and sleeker than the present version of the iPad, though what the picture shown in Engadget, doesn’t impress me at all. I always would be a fan of the cutting edges of the Apple products, not the curvy. The screen would also see a few changes, like the quality would be nearly equal to the Retina Display of the iPhone 4, but the rumors say that it won’t be completely the same screen quality as of the iPhone.
Here are a few features that are being expected from the iPad 2 –
- The improved screen and design
- Front and rear cameras, now competing well with the Samsung Galaxy tab
- Built-in SD Slot
- Dual GSM / CDMA chipset by Qualcomm, which would make it available by AT&T and Verizon simultaneously.
- It’s not confirmed but seems that Apple’s new A5 CPU would make an entry into the iPad 2.
Apart from the iPad, there are several changes that would be seen in the iPhone too, and the iPhone 5 would again see a complete makeover as the sources say. Overall, there are quite a few changes in the iPad but still nothing really special to speak about. Now the device is somewhere near to the specs that most of the Android tablets like the Galaxy tab, Notion Ink Adam etc. have in them.
