Airtel had recently launched the 4G services in two places in India, i.e. in Kolkata and Bengaluru but along with that, they have revamped the prices of the 3G service. They have announced the new 3G packs and the new tariffs for these packs, along with the introduction of the Smartbytes which came into existence with the launch of the Airtel 4G service.
Smartbytes are the topup options for users whose data usage limit is reached, and if they wanted to get more data browsing limit extension without the validity data extension, they can use the Smartbytes.
With all new price plans and the launch of ‘Smartbytes’ for 3G, Airtel continues to focus on offering customers a gamut of options (across 2G, 3G, DSL and now 4G) towards accelerating and driving the adoption of data services in India. Following are the prepaid and postpaid packs of the 3G service of Airtel:

Apart from the above packs for the prepaid and postpaid users, it is Smartbytes that would be advantageous for the users. The Smartbytes options available are:

- Rs. 175 – 500 MB Pack benefit
- Rs. 300 – 1 GB Pack benefit
The volume based browsing rate for the non 3G users has been brought down to 3 paise per 10 kb from 10p/10kb earlier. The 3G plans and tariff is all for the users to use in either the Mobile phones or in the USB dongles.
