Couple days back we showed how to register for iPhone 4 in India, but the news from Aircel is official. BGR.in has got a press release from Aircel that the iPhone 4 in India is going to launch on May 27th, with a complete prepay option and a reverse subsidy. As expected, the prices would hit the Indian customers initially but the offers paid by Aircel would help the customers recover their entire prepay cost within the next year.
Here is what the Press Release says –
Following an upfront payment of Rs. 34,500 for the 16GB model and Rs. 40,900 for the 32GB model, customers will have the opportunity to recover 100 percent of their upfront iPhone cost in monthly credits on their service plan over a period of 24 months.
So this is the highest price for the iPhone till date in India. Airtel has no word on it as of now, but Aircel would be the first brand to sell the iPhone in India. Is this something to do with the Samsung Galaxy S II phone launch in India? The Galaxy S II is going to be launched on 28th as the sources say, so Aircel is going to attract the mobile phone geeks with the iPhone launch a day prior to the awaited successor of Samsung Galaxy S with better specifications.
The iPhone 4 is the best Apple mobile device till now, with a Retina display, the 5-megapixel camera with flash and the sharp-edged design completely different from that of the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It has an Apple A4 chip with a processor that makes it one of the fastest smartphones, and based on the latest version of the iOS it strongly contends for the best smartphone around.
