Android OS always has something fascinating in itself, but when you see that “something fascinating” doubled up with an external attachment which beautifies everything, there is nothing else you should look around for. Am talking about the Samsung Galaxy Tab. It is a perfect bundle of advanced technology enveloped in a slim package of white and black shiny surface. The Galaxy Tab 750 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is one of the best hitters against the iPad (Apple fanboy favorite tablet device), and it surely would keep the other Android tablets on the bay with not just the design, but the Internal specs of it.

Hope you like this post, and to appreciate it you can promote my post on IndiBlogger which could help me become an official Samsung Mobiler.

And yeah, I LIVE BLOGGED the Samsung Galaxy Tab Meet by Indiblogger in Bangalore. Had a great time with plenty of tabs around me. This isn’t a review, it is a post based on my views and the features given by the company.

Let me split the entire thing into parts that makes your journey interesting (CLICK ON THE LINK TO GO TO THAT PART OF ARTICLE)-

What keeps the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 apart?

Designed at its best

A thinner and lighter tablet, with a beautiful design. And it has got a name now, for being the Thinnest and Lightest tablet device ever available. Oh and we know, the iPad users would be watching with their jealous eyes! Just 565 grams and 8.8mm in width, it would fit in well inside your bag, within the books which would look large enough than the tab.

Display – Mixture of Shine, Gloss and Rich Graphics

The sleek and glossy face of its, and the shiny back white surface of its beautifies the way one is having it in their hands. The screen of 10.1-inches with a large screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels, would give an output video quality of 1080p. The richer graphics displayed, would be bursting out at 149ppi pixel density.

Multimedia – Vast Support

The multimedia support now won’t need you to sit and search whether some version of audio or video is compatible to be played in the tab or not. Just open the file and it would start playing. That’s the beauty of Samsung and Android together. Full HD Videos with 1080p quality at 30fps, and support for the codecs VP8, MPEG4, Xvid, DivX, WMV9/7/8, H.263 and H.264. The vibrant display would make the video to look at its best quality, and the audio quality that the tab supports includes MP3, RA, WMA, eAAC+ and AAC, each of which can be even played in the headphones through the 3.5mm headset jack. The tab has a surround sound system, which won’t want you to connect to any external speakers!

Honeycomb Interface – The best of Android

The interface by Android OS is specially made, only for the tablet devices. So you know, there is something that would keep it apart from the smaller mobile phones, and the larger notebooks. The class of tablet devices is totally different, and the Galaxy Tab 750 is the best in that class. An advanced home screen, full of widgets that could be moved, arranged in multiple pages, and the best browsing experience using the Android web browser having multiple options. Flash content loads in a flash, without a hassle.
Connectivity support for Wi-Fi, and 3G HSPA network, would take the usage of Tab to the next level. The bluetooth 3.0 latest technology makes it anyways possible to connect to any other bluetooth enabled devices, but the speed this time is a lot better than the previous tab, i.e. the 1st generation Galaxy Tab.

Battery that doesn’t suck itself easily

Samsung heard us well this time. Many had complained about the battery life of the previous version, and this time Sammy promises 9 hours of battery life on continuous usage. Imagine! 9 hours of battery life. Need anything more productive and entertaining than the Galaxy Tab while you are traveling? I bet you won’t get anything better. Oh the iPad? Sure you can, but won’t be able to play the flash games, which your kids might want to play for hours.

The Applications and Social Hub

The Samsung Galaxy Tab can be called a big bundle tying up loads of Applications that have already come in pre-installed, and your experience doesn’t end here. You could download any number of apps from the Android Market, and keep them organized in various app pages. There is even a Social hub to keep you connected with your friends through the Social networks and the Social Hub would make the contact pages richer and better.

Want more reasons than these? There are many, but just reading all this won’t be enough. Get a Tab and you would discover why it really rocks!

iPad is beaten, TOTALLY! Want to know how?

samsung galaxy tab 750 vs ipad

There go the Apple Fanboys who were jumping with joy with their iPads, now each of them run to a place to hide. The Galaxy Tab has come with features, each of which could hit the heads of the iPad users to make them regret why they bought one! Here are a few solid reasons why the Galaxy Tab 750 is better than the iPad.

You look obese and dull, iPad 2!

Yeah it’s just 0.2mm less but still the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is the slimmest tablet device now, with the thickness of just 8.6mm and the more thinner a tablet device is, the more beautiful it looks. The tab is lighter in weight too, with the 595gm being compared to the 607gm of iPad 2. The higher pixel count of the Galaxy Tab keeps the display of the iPad 2 at bay.

Processors – Samsung is the maker, Tab is the Winner

We already knew who is making the Dual Core 1GHz processors for the tablet devices. It was Samsung, through which the iPad used to get the processors, so they surely know how to keep the Galaxy Tab a couple steps ahead of the iPad when it comes to the processors and the speed of the interface. The Tab has the NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual Core Processor.

Storage Flexibility – Tab Users have options!

I bought an iPad with 16GB, and have a few movies (iPad is for entertainment, yes) and a few apps. The memory is almost full. But I don’t have an option of expanding the memory. This sucks. At least the Galaxy Tab with 16GB has an option to increase the storage capacity using the SD storage card, and this can go upto 32GB. [UPDATE: The point about expandable memory went wrong. The Galaxy Tab that arrived has 16GB of space and no expandable memory, so iOS wins here with a higher storage option.]

Flash content – Played without a hassle in Tab

Apple always has the issue to play the Flash games, thanks but no thanks to Adobe with whom they are not settling with, so the iPad users would still keep searching to find an alternative (which cannot be found easily), while the Android Honeycomb OS in the Galaxy Tab can play the Flash content very well, thanks to the Adobe Flash player with its latest version already installed, and the Android market always updating it whenever a latest version is available.

The Boasting about iPad Battery, no more!

As we said earlier, the Galaxy Tab was on the negative side when the battery was compared. But with the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 i.e. the Galaxy Tab 750, the manufacturer promises a battery life of at least 9 hours. Now that’s a lot, and this is mainly because of the Honeycomb OS. The interface and OS in the Motorola Xoom has been giving long hours of battery, so that’s what is expected with the Tab too.

Capturing the Moments, better than the iPad

The Galaxy Tab has an 3-megapixel camera with an autofocus, you can imagine how much it was needed for such a large screen to capture something clear enough. The iPad has a pretty low-quality camera, basically because Apple thinks they should concentrate more on the interface than the camera, and so the first iPad didn’t even have a camera. HD Video recording and the front camera being a 2MP one, would produce a display clear for video conferencing and better than the VGA quality front camera of the iPad.

With Bluetooth, I can share my content

Samsung Galaxy Tab with Bluetooth, iPad lacksThe Bluetooth 3.0 Technology in the Galaxy Tab 750 can help share the content with any other device that has Bluetooth enabled in it, may that be a smartphone, or an Android tablet, or a notebook with Bluetooth. The iOS devices still don’t have the option to share files via bluetooth, because they are not open to have a file manager and so there is no sharing option other than emailing.

Why are you comparing the Tab with iPad?

You know why! We agree with the same, the iPad is one of the best tablet devices around. But the Tab has all the reasons to call itself the better half, so the comparison. The OS is different, so that cannot be included, but the features surely would be the one people would be looking at, for their ease of usage.

I Agree, the Tab rocks! How Can I Buy One?

You don’t have to keep waiting for the day of launch so that you rush to the store and stand in long queues, and see if you were lucky to buy one. Samsung has set up options to help you pre-order the Galaxy tab and the product would come to your doorsteps when it is officially launched.

In India, it is priced at Rs. 36200, quite less when compared to the iPad and here is an offer from Flipkart for the same –
Free Book Cover Worth Rs.3500 + Car Charger Worth Rs.1899 + Sling Bag Worth Rs.1899 for your Galaxy Tab750 – Offer available only on Pre-Order.

I Won’t Buy the Tab. You know why?

  • Because, only because you are too sarcastic. You are trashing the iPad. I know iPad doesn’t have many features as you said, but still, I love Apple. I know Samsung is launching its best product. Still, I’m jealous being an Apple fan.
  • I don’t travel. And when I travel, I want to have my 2kg laptop on back, only because I’m overweight and this extra weight on me would help me reduce some.
  • I’m the traditional type. I like laptops, computers etc. and don’t want something really beautiful and technologically innovative replace my old thoughts.
  • I have a strict time table. I check mails only once a day, no matter how important they are. My friend mails me he is coming tonight, but I would check that mail tomorrow morning, because I don’t like to be connected on-the-go, and have a time table to follow.
  • I really like to waste time, stop my car near the footpaths and ask people for any directions. Let the Google Maps do their charm and show the directions to others, I will still stick to my way of asking people for directions to places, and roam around for long.
  • What do I do with the bundles of money I earn? Why shouldn’t I pay more and buy an iPad to show off, rather than paying less and buying this cheap Galaxy Tab, although it looks and works far better?

The Media launch of the Galaxy tab was awesome, with some celebs too praising the stuff being brought into the market by Samsung, with the added advantage of Android OS. Here is the entire event recorded –
