Bharat Electronics Ltd. is something that doesn’t have any big hold in the gadgets market, but the low budget products of its, made by the central research lab do make an impact. This is another attempt by the Indian govt. lines to work on something that asks for low budget, and the low poverty people getting their touch on the gadgets. Earlier it was the HCL Sakshat tablet which was to be available for $35, and overhyped for the low price, yet no news of its actual launch. The new product, double the price is getting something more interesting – Solar powered charging.
The tablet device would be using the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, and the battery would be powered by Solar charge. The data can be uploaded and synced, kept in with the lines of the central server in real time. Using the Android OS and downloading the various applications, making the device usable in many ways, but one of the best uses of its can be the e-reader, where the e-books can be read very well. Bharat Electronics has claimed that around 6 lakh orders have come already for the Tablet device, which totals to the 250 crores.
This attempt is said to be working on well, as there have been a lot of orders already and BEL is actually building the devices, according to the sources through the supplier companies. The solar charging is another advantage the customers would be happily having an eye on.
