Notabiliy is one of the most powerful note-taking apps for iOS. It supports text, images, recording, hand-writing, PDF annotating and other great features. It might seem a bit complicated at the beginning, but going through it a few minutes and learning what it can do will definitely surprise you. The app is currently $1.99 so it’s a great deal worth your money.

The great thing about Evernote is that you can access your notes from everywhere: your PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone. You can capture anything: your ideas, things you like, things you hear and see. The app is free in the Appstore and it’s definitely worth a try.

Penultimate is Notability’s free little brother, however it doesn’t have so much functionality.  Actually this app doesn’t even try to be anything more than an old-fashioned alternative to your notebook and pen. You won’t get Notability’s fancy features, there’s just a pen, an eraser and a cut/paste tool.

Notes Plus is a really good alternative to Notability. It has a built-in web browser for quick reference, handwriting recognition (that costs another $1.99) and other great futures. Even if overall the app is good, it has a $7.99 price tag. So it really does matter whether you need those extra features or not.

Catch Notes is a fresh looking, well designed, simple app for iOS. It lets you take notes, ideas, create checklists, add photos, set reminders and all that within a single app. Considering it’s free, it worth giving a try.

Apple’s Notes is always an option. It syncs through iCloud to all your Apple devices including Mac.

Sticky Notes it’s a simple, easy to use app that has enough functionality to make it very useful. Keeps yourself organized by combining old school paper reminders with it’s customizable options.

Springpad has always been Evernote’s powerful competitor, however the last updates has made it more a web clipping and visual bookmarking app (while it can still take notes). It is free in the Appstore.

Awesome Note is a great iOS app for creating calendar entries, notes and to-do lists. It fuses a great design with a great functionality. But despite all this, it lacks iCloud syncing. Has a $4.99 price tag, so it’s up to you.

Super Note has a slick, nice design, however it needs more user customizability options. This app is still at the beginning of a super note taking app that will keep you well-organized in a surprisingly simple and intuitive way.
